Shopping so far this month...

I hit a Sentry for milk and bread last week. $3.79
 
I hit Aldi yesterday, after I was in Madison shoveling my Mom's sidewalk and driveway.
I picked up:
Cranberries
Cuties (Clementines)
Cantaloupe
Sweet Potatoes
Bananas
4# Sugar
 
Total spent?
$9.06
 
Then, today, I hit Copps for milk. ($2.89) My real reason to visit was looking up prices on a few things I might be picking up on Saturday with Double Double Daze...but that is another post.
So, quick budget summary:
 
$100.00 for the month
-$6.15 (Sarah gets one school lunch a week @$2.05)
-$3.79 Sentry
-$9.06 Aldi
-$2.89 Copps
$78.11 To go yet this month.

We really are pretty well stocked up and don't need much --
I no longer have any milk in the freezer --
I plan to hit Double Double Daze hard this Saturday --
I have a plan to save a little cash for after Christmas sales --
 
We shall see how it goes, but I feel pretty good having 80% of my budget left and 1/3 the month over AND I still have some leftover from previous months to dip into!

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
