Fun, Frugal Things To Do This Weekend

Saturday, September 22nd

Hit a local farm!
Apple season is in full swing, pumpkins are ready and corn mazes are starting to pop up. Madison's Hula Frog has a nice list of them
HERE. Personally, we go to Zickert's Orchard in Deerfield but they are NOT open this year.

Your local library!
Check with them for their fall programs - they are FREE and usually super fun!

Dane County Farmer's Market on the Square!!!!
Squeaky Cheese Curds, Baked goods, spring produce AND the beautiful downtown Madison - what more could you ask for?
Visit the UW Geology Museum
1215 W. Dayton St., 262-2399,http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!

Sunday, September 23rd
The Memorial Union Terrace
They always seem to have something fun going on there - music, Babcock ice cream, etc and there is no charge!

Last time we went there were FREE crafts, a GIANT inflatable Bucky, Balloon animals and an outdoor brat stand (not FREE).

Look for the big orange chair and turn it into a photo-op like we did with Miss Sarah and the peanut of Ashely from Coupons for Wisconsin already this summer!
:)

Henry Vilas Zoo
We are SOOO lucky to have a FREE Zoo!
Make a day out of it with a picnic.
PLEASE read the FAQ list HERE - for lots of tips, address/directions and general animal safety
Go Bowling!
Kid's Bowl FREE is up and running for the summer! Check more out
HERE. This is a nice ting to have, just in case the weather is less than nice out.
:)
