Are you too cheap?

This isn't what you think - it's about YOU, not how frugal you are. This was a great statement that I saw on a friend's facebook post -- SO TRUE! If you're NOT being treated with love and respect, check your "price tag." Perhaps you have marked yourself down. It's YOU who tell people what you're worth BY WHAT YOU ACCEPT. Get off the "clearance rack" and get behind the glass where they keep all the "valuables". The bottom line is... "value" yourself more. Blessings- Dannelle

Frugal Friday - Road Trip!

As we were making our plans to visit the most Magical Place on Earth (Disney), it was easy to see how fast things could ad up! Hotel, meals, transportation, souvenirs and more could break the bank if we weren't careful. Just because we have money, doesn't mean we need to spend it all, especially on a vacation. =) So, what to do to save money on our trip? First of all, thanks to the Tupperware Convention, we saved almost 75% off our room at the Disney Resort. Seriously, we are getting 6 days for just under $600, and add $100 more for the 2 nights on the road (there and back). The posted room rate on their website is $425 for our room, before taxes. Awesome. We knew that going into this trip and then, got Miss Sarah on board with saving for Disney with her "Bank"   - she diligently saved coins for seven months and FILLED the milk jug! That money was turned into Disney Gift Cards (bought at Walgreen's) so we would carry less cash with us and not use the credit c...

Double Coupon Day - Multiple Transactions

I have had a lot of questions about this -- how do I do them? Rainbow/Pick N Save/Copp's has a normal double coupon policy where you have to spend $25 and then, you can double (on certain days) 5 coupons that have a value up to $1 . Their way of thinking is you spend $25, they will give you up to $10 back. Insider tips: 1) The $25 is ORIGINAL SHELF PRICE, not sale price - SO, it could be $25 of items that are on sale for $7 less... you are now at $18 and get to take that $10 off...you get it all for $8, almost half of their "plan". 2) DOUBLE DOUBLE coupons occur every 6 months or so, for ONE DAY a week, for a few weeks. They let you double TEN coupons that day, with the same $25 transaction! Try taking $10 off that $8 balance...he he he! 3) Multiple transactions. It benefits you to split up your grocery shopping into multiple transactions: if you do it all at one time you can be buying 40 items that all have coupons, but only 10 would double. If you plan it out, you c...

Update: Pawn America

Tuvie Tuesdays have given way to all DVDs being $1.99 instead of 2/$5 !! We got a few more today - they all look brand new and will keep us happy with the 4 day car ride we have on our upcoming trip. =)

It's Tuvie Tuesday!

If you have a Pawn America by you - they have Tuvies Tuesdays -- where you could get two DVDs for $5! I have mentioned this before -- but we have found some GREAT RARE movies there and seriously, they have THOUSANDS of DVDs. Recently I have gotten all three Twilight Movies and 6 Disney Blu-rays!! I have also gotten a few holiday movies - tucked away in the Christmas Pack (more on that next month) =) The price is right - if you are in the market for something new to watch. For the price of a movie rental, you can OWN the DVD. They also have a 7 day satisfaction guarantee. =) Happy shopping!

Meal Plan Monday - Hitting The Road

Image
It's the beginning of a new week! In my coupon class, I teach people how to save money at the stores. That is half of the equation for saving money on food, meal planning is the other half to it. You have to USE the food you have brought home and not let yourself make the "fast food run" - those add up fast and kill your budget! Meal planning also saves you time - no more getting home and playing "open up the cupboard doors, what falls out is for dinner" game. You KNOW what you are going to make/eat and have the recipes and ingredients handy. THIS saves you both time and money, two great things! This week finds us getting ready for our big Disney Trip! We are driving this time, so we have our vehicle in Florida, while we bop about. So, it means having fun, yet not breaking the bank! We got a great deal on the hotel through the Tupperware convention and will spend a few nights with my big sis, but have a few other ideas on cheap travel...more coming in a ...
