I have talked before about taking advantage of what your church has to offer, in way of programs for socializing. Creating that sense of community it wonderful! It's great to surround yourself with like-minded people, and set that example for your children. Our church has a Valentine's Brunch today, from 9:00 am to noon. Brunch, crafts and fun for all family members. We will make cards, ornaments and other crafts while enjoying great food and fellowship... Ms Sarah and I were taking a friend and her kids, but they couldn't make it. SOOO, we have to wait until Ballet is over to go. I will share pictures - they always do such a nice job with the details! Six cereal meal deals means last week means six packs of eggs...that is a LOT of eggs for three people to eat! Are you wondering what will I do with 6 dozen eggs? that is 24 eggs, per person in this house... eesh! First of all, the obvious things like fried egg sandwiches for lunch, omelettes for Sunday brunch and a "backwards day" where we have breakfast for dinner! Then, bake. Cookies, cupcakes and a few other yummy treats should kill off at least a dozen...then I go to "plan B" Quiche. It's a great way to use up small amounts of leftover veggies and meat - the recipe is on my recipe page. Hard boiled eggs. Great shot of protein when you need a quick snack or pick up. You can boil them, peel them and then freeze them! If you are planning on potato salad or egg salad, simply thaw them in your fridge the night before. First of all, we ate out twice! SHOCKER!! Saturday, I did two Tupperware parties and was simply beat by the time I picked Sarah up at the in-laws (LOVE built in babysitters!) because my Fibromyalgia could feel the effects of the plummeting temps this coming week. We stopped at Denny's and had a fun time, just us two girls! I wasn't that hungry and just got the flat bread cheeseburger item off the $2 menu while Ms. Sarah had the spaghetti and grapes (her combo pick). Two glasses of water and after splitting one piece of pumpkin pie, came the bill. $4.22 Apparently, on Saturdays, kids eat FREE at Denny's. Who knew?! Last fall, I mentioned a project on my list, a DIY Paint Job . I had basically gotten the paint for FREE with the Menard's rebates and just hand't gotten around to it yet. Until Today. I want the new "before" picture - with the railing on the right removed. I TRIED to get the coat rack off, but will have to wait for the hubster to do it. (grr...) The people that painted this mess never taped anything off...see how they over shot onto the celing? THAT is why I am painting the ceiling too! I was a good girl and got out the roll of blue tape and got busy! This is just the first coat, no edging done yet. I can tell already that the ceiling will need a little TLC besides the roller...and I will need at least 2 more coats to finally get rid of that...but doesn't it look better already? NOW, I can see the imperfections in the wall! Spots that need to be patched, holes that need to be filled, areas that need to be sanded. (sigh). These are the joys of having a house that ...
