Playing With The Dehydrator - Pineapple Ring Treats

Image
We love trying new things -- this had become one of our FAVORITE dried snack treats! I had gotten Dole Pineapple Rings FREE - they were marked down to $.60 a can (4 slice) and I had $1/3 coupons that I doubled at Copp's back in the Double Double day streak in April...for about 20 cans of pineapple rings! You take them out of the can and pat them dry with paper towels, like Miss Sarah is showing you here. Then, you place them in the dehydrator tray with a (paper towel dried) maraschino cherry in the middle. Plug it in and let it rip about 6 hours or so. They shrink to hold the cherry as they dry, like you see here, and are AMAZING!!!  I can't wait for the next Dole coupon to come out so I can load up! This is a great staple in our house now -- and two make a GREAT "dessert" in a school lunch!

Get Paid To Take Surveys

Image
Some people are always looking for a little extra money to make, from home, from their computer. The following sites have surveys to take for actual money, products to test and review (and get paid), or for points you can use for stuff. Good luck! I'd try it, if I had the time. =)

FREE Photo Calendar From Vistaprint

Image
I can't say enough about the photo calendars...we make "Sarah" calendars every year for the grandparents at Christmas and they LOVE them! First of all, keep in mind that I have/had four Dads -- some are remarried, and they have parents still - which makes for a LOT of Grandparents on my side. My hubby is an only child of a couple that I swear is related to Ward and June Cleaver...less the pearls. =) You can upload a variety of fun shots from the course of the year and make a neat calendar that really becomes a mini photo album! Seriously, they have saved every year by their photo albums - it cracks me up! Check it out -- you can get it for just shipping! A photo calendar through Walgreens.com is $19.99 PLUS shipping...you can repeat this offer a few times and save a bundle. I know -- soon, you will be like me: DONE holiday shopping by Black Friday and coasting through the holidays actually able to enjoy them! =)

Sorry!

Things have been nutso here - tomorrow night I will have a chance to catch up - and get the rest of the ad match ups posted ;) My pop had surgery and has been in the hospital. If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend - check it out! I was HOPING that these coupons would be back this year! =) Last year, you could take these to Target or Walmart and get the TRAVEL sized games for almost nothing! Most of them run $3.99 -5.99 each, so the coupons would drop them to FREE or under $1. **The hard core couponer's figure this out quickly and these coupons vanish - print them NOW and see if Target.com has one that you can stack it with (they should come out mid month) $4.00 off the purchase of one CONNECT 4 game $5.00 off one SIMON FLASH, SCRABBLE FLASH, YAHTZE **Donation Alert!!!! If you don't have little people to buy for, think of the Salvation Army holiday toy drive or the local Giving Trees at the Mall's/Churches in November. It's a GREAT way to help out others!

FREE Photo Canvas

Image
I simply love this - and it's SOOOO friggin' easy! You can upload ANY photo and they put it on a canvas for you - all you pay is shipping ($14.95). If you don't like the 8x10 size, you can upgrade and apply your $50 credit to it. Think holiday gifts! I just ordered TWO - one for each different set of grandparents! Canvas prints do NOT need a frame so this is a GREAT way to decorate your walls or makes a frugal, yet impressive gift. I already talked a little about Black Friday, my goal is to be DONE shopping by then and have everything wrapped! That way, I relax and enjoy the holiday season, everything from making cookies with Miss Sarah to random drives to see holiday light displays. Check it out - you won't be sorry!

Serve One Another in Love Column

Hi there -- I am posting my weekly column for the Serve One Another in Love blog on here, so I can link it to their facebook page as they are having issues and not able to update their site. I just don't want to leave anyone hanging from the last challenge =) Last week, I asked you to track your expenses. Just one week of writing down everything that you spent money on.   This does two different things for you: Make you more cautious of what you spend before it leaves your hand. Make you see where you are really putting your money. If you take your weekly list, and multiply it by 4, you get a picture of what your monthly habits could be. That $4 McDonald's breakfast, twice a week, ads up to $32 a month. That daily $3 gourmet coffee ads up to $60 a month. That $5 pack of cigarettes ads up to $50 a month, if a pack lasts you 3 days. Those are simple examples of things you wanted, but didn't NEED.   Did you find yourself thinking twice before you spent any mone

Back To School...

T'was the night before school started, when all through the town, the parents were cheering... It was a riotous sound! By 8, kids were washed and tucked into bed... Where memories of homework filled them with dread! New pencils, new folders, new notebooks too! New teachers, new friends...Their anxiety grew! The parents just giggled when they learned of this fright- and shouted upstairs: Go To Bed! It's A School Night!
