There are a lot of changes on the Walgreen's Horzon. 1) They are working towards a bi-monthly ad (once every two weeks) 2) They are implimenting a key tag program starting in September. My thoughts? If you have a CVS close - LEARN it and start shopping there. That is what I will be doing - come September. Just a quick note - you are going to REALLY want to learn CVS if you haven't been playing at it. Walgreen's is changing their Resgister Reward program in September and, it's not pretty. Copps has that killer deal on Oscar Mayer Bologna and Cotto Salami this week, where they end up being $.20 each! My real shopping day will be Wednesday, but I will "test" the meat scenario on Saturday....I also have an Egg Voucher to use up - but it will be a SMALL plan. For Wednesday, I have pre-ordered 50 of each for my church's food pantry. For Saturday (tomorrow) I am going to test it by doing one transaction with 10 packs and see if TWO Catalina's print out. If it doesn't, then it looks like I will be checking out a LOT on Wednesday, and using the self check out like to do so. What else grabbed my eye? A few cool things! Ok -- I know you see that phrase every week in my meal planning. We do "Fridge Clean Out" weekly as we eat up our leftovers from the last few days. That is the "pot luck" dinner of the night. This is different. My fridge was getting S-C-A-R-Y. Here is the picture to prove it: I am not sure how it happened, LOL! It just became a disaster. So, first things first! EVERYTHING out! Then I used hot, soapy water to clean shelves, drawers, door, and walls. Next came sorting everything that went back into the fridge, making sure to double check expiration dates on all bottles, etc. Does this look better?
