Visit the UW Geology Museum
1215 W. Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!

Sunday (6/30)

Read to the Dogs

Reading out loud can improve your child’s comprehension and self esteem – assets that transfer to many other areas of life. And there’s no better listener than a furry, four-legged friend. Join us as we partner with Dogs on Call Inc., whose mission is to promote literacy and the animal-human bond through Reading Education Assistance Dogs. As your child reads a story to an attentive canine, you’ll see tails wag and confidence rise. 10-2pm at the Madison Dream Bank, 1 N. Pinckney St, Madison

The Memorial Union Terrace
They always seem to have something fun going on there - music, Babcock ice cream, etc and there is no charge!
Last time we went there were FREE crafts, a GIANT inflatable Bucky, Balloon animals and an outdoor brat stand (not FREE).
Look for the big orange chair and turn it into a photo-op like we did with Miss Sarah and the peanut of Ashely from Coupons for Wisconsin already this summer!
:)

The Vilas Zoo!
We are lucky enough to have a FREE Zoo that is open year round...check it out
