Happy Anniversay to Us...
It's now been 17 years since we have said "I do" to each other...that is a long time with the same date in today's world!
I made a card for dear hubster - that you can see in the picture, the inside phrase is:
Life is a journey,
and love is what makes
that journey worthwhile.
Thank you for walking down that
garden path with me - Happy Anniversary!
He got me a nice card too - and we went out for dinner.
=)
The nice thing about your family knowing your goals, they know how to help you. My Mom didn't think we would spring for a dinner out so they watched the kiddo and treated to a nice place (our choice).
Hubby picked the local and it was to be a surprise to me. I must admit - I wasn't too excited about his choice...they had "yup-scaled" their menu so things like a Caesar Salad had "olive tapenade" on top of it, etc. I am talking about Lombardino's of Madison.
The menu wasn't too promising at first glance. I miss the old "Greenbush" day's of Madison that held a score of fantastic Italian places...with traditional, simple favorites. I opted for the Caesar Salad (skip the olives...) and a very generous serving of spaghetti bolognaise (half of which came home in a box). He had the real winner - a caramelized onion rustic pizza. The onions were super sweet and a fantastic compliment to the cheese and crusty base! A glass of wine for me, a beer for him and we had to take a tiramisu home in a box for later...
The evening was very nice, just the two of us connecting over a pleasant meal that cost more than half of what I spend each month on groceries, LOL!
Bottom line, it isn't a place that would be on my top 10 to go to, but it fit the moment...a non-child friendly place for two adults without their kiddo who wanted a little "adult" time.
=)
Here's to 17 more (and more, and more....)
