Easter Bird Nests
I have taught Tupperware candy making classes in December for almost twenty years,
haystacks being a quick and easy way to use up leftover chocolate.
This is simply a variation that had been running through my head and I cringed when I saw
other bloggers pop up with the idea before I had a chance to whip these up with Miss Sarah. (sigh). However, no one has had my cute little packaging idea -
so there IS something new for the blogosphere, LOL!

That, and no one has this cute a picture of them:
Let me start out by saying that this is VERY picture heavy - sorry!
Here goes: First, we used the left over chocolate from the bunny pops we had made,
and just added a little more white chocolate to itThen, we added an entire bag of chow mein noodles to it
We also needed little birdies...
Yes, these are some Belly Flops left from our Jelly Belly Field Trip...
It's VERY hard to NOT lick the chocolate stiring spatula...
So we separated the birds from the rest of their flock!
The chow mein noodles were added to the chocolate,
shaped into a nest, stuffed with a bird, and surrounded with her eggs.
See the entire collection (and proud creator)?
The random little haystacks will be treats for us next week!
NOW, we must make a presentation for them!
I saw these doilies at the Dollar General:
We wove curling ribbon thru it:
Then tied them up:
They had to be curled, after all, it IS curling ribbon!
We now have a Nest for our Nests!
Hoppy Easter!
We just made these, minus the Peep. My kids don't like Peeps, after recently trying for the first time. :) But, they do LOVE mini-Cadbury eggs and filled the nests with those.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Easter!
Very cute! Honestly, though, I've never had a problem finding a way to use leftover CHOCOLATE! ;-) LOL!
ReplyDelete...OR maybe it's just that I've never had leftover chocolate! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnne - we are putting these on the plates at Easter -- they will be take home gifts. Nothing like a shaped lump of sugar, coated in colored sugar, dipped in chocolate, LOL!
ReplyDeleteDonna - I had to beat them off that chocolate with a large stick...
ReplyDeletehow yummy and so totally cute!! Course nothing is cuter than your little Sarah!!
ReplyDeleteblessings,
Awww....thanks Cricket!
