Spring's gentle announcement that winter is over -
a dazzling array of different colors and scents, just waiting to be discovered!
Apparently, they have a new name for the what we have always called the McKay center:
Longenecker Gardens.
The smaller sign kindly reminds you:
No pets, no food, no garbage.
Besides hundreds of beautiful blooming trees, there are benches
through out for when you just want to sit, and take it in
Plenty of soft grass to relax on too! 
I just love it when simple things create great smiles: 
All of the trees are tagged, some of them are over 100 years old!
They tell you name, maybe who donated them, or what part of research they were for 
It's simply beautiful this time of year.
The cooler weather has made it last longer than it normally does, but hurry -
you are almost at the end of the season. 
So many different things to see and smell! 
We hope you you get a chance to get over there and enjoy it!
It's become an annual event for us

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
