Monday Meal Plan - still on the road!
It's the beginning of a new week!
In my coupon class, I teach people how to save money at the stores. That is half of the equation for saving money on food, meal planning is the other half to it.
You have to USE the food you have brought home and not let yourself make the "fast food run" - those add up fast and kill your budget!
Meal planning also saves you time - no more getting home and playing "open up the cupboard doors, what falls out is for dinner" game. You KNOW what you are going to make/eat and have the recipes and ingredients handy. THIS saves you both time and money, two great things!
Breakfast will include:
Lunches as normal (sandwiches, snacky stuff we packed, left overs, tappas plates) and for dinner...

This week finds us in the middle of our big Disney Trip! We are driving this time, so we have our vehicle in Florida, while we bop about. So, it means having fun, yet not breaking the bank! We got a great deal on the hotel through the Tupperware convention and will spend a few nights with my big sis, but have a few other ideas on cheap travel...more coming in a different post!
For now, here is the FOOD part of this coming week - I raided my stockpile for a few bags of groceries to take with us. This lets us save our money for the basics that we need at the stores there AND have more fun!
WHAT did I pack from the stockpile?
- Boxes of cereal
- Capri Sun (a rare treat for Miss Sarah)
- Crystal Light (different flavors) and our water bottles
- Granola Bars
- Multigrain Chips
- Cocoa
- Emerald Breakfast To Go Nut packs
- Goldfish Crackers
- Gatorade
- A Case of bottled water
- Peanut Butter & Jelly
We just got bread, milk and fruit when we hit a store in Orlando. This should save us a LOT of money at Disney - although my hubby is already teasing me that they DO have stores in Florida and that packing my coupon box would take up less space, LOL!
SO - what do we eat until we leave? Any time you see ** you know we pulled it out of the freezer.
Here is the list:
Breakfast will include:
- cold cereal
- fresh fruit
- Emerald Breakfast To Go Granola/Nut packs- fresh fruit
Lunches as normal (sandwiches, snacky stuff we packed, left overs, tappas plates) and for dinner...
