Some Shopping This Month

I did a little bit this past week - HyVee and Walgreen's.

HyVee First:
Four 12 packs Cream Soda @$2 (they are Pepsi products) and I used the $3/4 Pepsi coupon from Sentry's Ad this week...for a total of $5.44

Also at HyVee
5# ground beef ($1.79/# ) and 10 pounds butter @$1.99 for a grand total of $28.85

Then came Walgreen's today!
Four gallons of Arizona Tea today @$1.99 and two Hershey Kisses for $.05. I used four $1/1 Manu Coupons and then, two $1.50 RR (from the Carmex last week)..to pay $1.50 OOP (I couldn't use another RR as it wouldn't cover the sales tax).

So, the budget for the month:
$100
-5.44 HyVee
-28.85 HyVee
-1.50 Walgreen's
$64.29 to go

Kinda Scary as it's just the first week and I have already killed 1/3 of my budget BUT, I have butter that will last me thru the holidays

    I used to have a County Market AND a Hyvee but that was before I started couponing :( My new town only has an IGA and their sales suck! Great site! Love the Menard's rebate list.

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
