To Cake Pop or Not To Cake Pop....?

As I preview all the Black Friday Ads - I see this cute Cake Pop Iron at almost every store. If it isn't him, it's his smaller cousin that makes 6 at a time.

We have made Cake Pops before -- they originally were crumbled and rolled by hand, mixed with cream cheese frosting until you have desired consistency. Form into balls and place on waxed paper. Insert lollypop sticks into balls and refrigerate for an hour. Melt white or dark chocolate with corn syrup and cream to dip in.
That is how easy they are to make -- but time consuming....

I have seen pans to bake them and now, the "waffle irons" that make them. I MIGHT have to pick one up at ShopKo on Friday, when I get my Sit and Store Licensed Princess Chair....It's the best price I have seen locally (I think) : $12.99

If you don't know what I am really talking about - just look at this Amazon silde show of molds, tools, and my favorite part: books of fun ideas! I am afraid that I am about to cross over from the cupcake world ... there is just so much fun stuff you can do!

The irons seem to win my vote as they make a batch quicker than waiting for the molds in the oven (and they don't rate that high in satisfaction), therefore using less electricity, resulting in a lower over all cost to make...and are quicker than baking a cake, crumbling/mixing and waiting to cool.

Enjoy the slideshow and share your thoughts!
