Fun Things To Do With the Kiddos This Weekend
It's a short list this week -- as we get closer to Christmas, most places are keeping things simple. It's a GREAT weekend for Christmas pageants!
I am running around like an idiot on Saturday:
Here is what I have rounded up for this weekend:
Saturday
Super Saturday Storytime - at Barn's N Noble Bookstore (10:30 AM - 11:15 AM)
Super Saturday Imagination Storytime is on the first and third Saturday of each month and begins at 10:30am. It's an amazing adventure for children and their family to take together!
Kids in the Rotunda
Every Saturday October thru May - Overture Center for the Arts
Overture Center offers free arts programs designed for children and families at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM. The popular performing arts series for children and families offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers.
The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted. Kids in the Rotunda takes place on the Rotunda Stage. This week--Yid Vicious - Haunakkah Rocks!
Tour the Wisconsin Governor's Mansion!
It's FREE, lasts about half an hour and is also a food drive for the Second Harvest Food Bank (which helps supply a lot of small pantries). Tours run from Noon - 2:00
If you need the address it is 99 Cambridge Road, Maple Bluff (East Madison)...and feel free to bring a non-perishable food item.
Sunday
**A LOT of churches have their holiday pageants today -- simply ask around. I know Bethel Lutheran of Madison has theirs at 4PM (Miss Sarah is an Angel).
**Please let me know if I have missed anything cool -
there are SOOOO many events this December that it is hard to catch them all
I am running around like an idiot on Saturday:
- 6AM shopping at Copp's (double double coupon day)
- Sarah to ballet at 9:30
- Take Sarah and her friend to the holiday craft brunch at our church
- Then it is a quick pageant rehearsal
- 1 PM Off to Kids at the Rotunda (almost across the street)
- 4 PM I take the girls to a birthday party on Madison's west side
- We will head home and have dinner (if there was no party food) and the girls have a sleep over here.
