Thank You: And A TLC Update

When I asked what y'all thought about me going on season 3 of TLC's Extreme Couponing, I was over whelmed by the response! Between the blog replies, facebook posts and over 250 E-mails, all I can say is: WOW! You really gave me a lot to think about and I was very touched by some of the incredibly sweet things you had to say.
=)

I talked to my church...specifically our new Senior Pastor, the Pastor who is in charge of our Homeless Ministry and also the person in charge of our food pantry. They all gave me a green light. I can use anything, have full access to the church for any of TLC's taping, they will schedule a "Blessing Bag" packing that works with whatever shooting schedule TLC might have, etc. They are beyond excited about the possibilities of bringing awareness to a group of people that are invisible to so many people.

I have also talked with a few people who have already been on the show, and asked them about "the good, the bad and the ugly" about it. I picked up a few tips and know that I simply have to be careful of what I say and what we buy - even what I wear. (Insane)! I really find it hard to see me saying something that I haven't shared with y'all - you know my philosphies and I have taught ethics/etc enough that I don't see myself being "tripped up".
=)
I have a "shopping buddy" picked out. I didn't realize that I would need one, but I have a local pal who really supports a Personal Essentials Pantry in the area and she would be a great fit (and she is hysterical!!!!!)

My shopping trip would be fully donated to Second Harvest Food Bank with the condition that my church's food pantry would be able to get the same poundage of food back from them - I just know our pantry can't handle a large donation at one time...yet I want them to benefit. I am working on setting that up, should this all come into fruition.

I have been talking to local store owners about the possiblity of taping there...I know TLC will call them if I am picked and want to work things out/feel things out with them first.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this one line a reader shared in her reply:
"You are not an Extreme Couponer, You just coupon extremely well because of all the limitations we have".
I will be using that at the end of my promo video (almost done) that I have to submit with my paperwork...it sums up us Wisconsin Couponers beautifully!

Trust me, I will share the video when it's done!
I already have footage from our church's food pantry, Pastor Sarah talking about our Homeless Mission AND the "Blessing Bags"...I just need to tweak the open and close and do a little editing. I hope to have it done this week yet.

After all of this, there is the possiblity that they will NOT use me, but I am praying that they do. If it plays out the way I am hoping, it could be an AMAZING message about what people can do for others, by simply using the free money that the manufacturer's give us.
=)

Thank you again for all of your input -
Blessings-
Dannelle
