Michael's Craft Store Knack Kid's Projects: Saturday 3/3
Make a colorful bookmark for school, or - with a purchase, a Cat in the Hat pencil holder (must buy foam cupholder). 4-6PM, While Supplies Last / Ages 3 and up.
Home Depot Kid's Workshop: Valentine's Keepsake Box!
FREE hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5 - 12 offered the 1st Saturday of every month at all The Home Depot stores between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
--Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment. All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement. For March it is Build a #20 Race Car!
Super Saturday Story time - at Barn's N Noble Bookstore (10:30 AM - 11:15 AM)
Super Saturday Imagination Story time is on the first and third Saturday of each month and begins at 10:30am. It's an amazing adventure for children and their family to take together!

Every Saturday October thru May - Overture Center for the Arts
Overture Center offers free arts programs designed for children and families at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM. The popular performing arts series for children and families offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers.
The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted. Kids in the Rotunda takes place on the Rotunda Stage. This week: NO KIR- International Festival
Marcus Kids Dream Winter Film Series
10AM : Grab the family and head to your nearest participating Marcus Theatre® location and watch The Smurfs for just $2 each! All titles will be shown in standard 2D only. This weekend is: Happy Feet 2
Visit the UW Geology Museum
1215 W. Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!

Waisman Center is back!!
The spring 2012 Waisman Center Children's Theatre series sponsored by Baird and hosted by the Friends of the Waisman Center. Admission: $2.00, Adults; $1.00, Children.
Tickets: Advance tickets for any show in the entire series can be purchased at the ticket table beginning on the first performance date and then throughout the series. The ticket table opens at NOON and is only open on days when there is a performance. Sign Interpreters: All shows sign interpreted.
Location: Friends of the Waisman Center Auditorium, 1500 Highland Avenue Directions: Turn North from University Ave at the intersection of University Bay Dr. and Farley Ave; continue over the hill onto Highland Ave. The Waisman Center is down the hill on the left. Enter parking lot by athletic fields.
Parking:Free. Park in far end of lot of the Waisman lot, #82. Additional parking is also available in lots 76 and 60. Parking and maps are available. http://www.waisman.wisc.edu/info/visitors/maps.html

Step into the laboratory with the nationally renowned Mad Science educators for fun, amazing, educational demonstrations that focus on chemistry and physics geared for young audiences.

7-noon at the Prairie View Middle School. All you can eat pancakes, sausage, apple sauce, milk, coffee - a low price and it's a charitable contribution.
