Copps Run Today

I had decided at the last minute and didn't pre-order...so, no surprise that they were out of the turkey dogs!

I got a rain check (they last 30 days) and only ended up with one transaction.

8 ounces of cream (recipe coming...) @$1.59
1 gallon milk @$2.59
eggs @$.99
10 packs chocolate chip cookies @$2.49 (normally $3.13)

Coupons used (handed over in this order):
(10) $1/1 Nestle Cookie Dough (only 5 doubled - but I was OK with that)
in ad coupon to take $.60 off the milk
$5 came off the Nestle deal instantly
(2) $3 Walgreen's RR**

Grand total: $36.47 for $3.47, saving 90.5%

In case you missed it - we are baking all of the cookies off on Monday for my Church's Homeless support group...240 cookies for under $5 - what a deal!

**The policy on this is changing - some stores have already stopped taking them so your mileage may very (YMMV).

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
