Home Depot Kid's Workshop!
9 AM-Noon the project will be to build an Organizer - perfect for that Father's Day Gift!
These are how-to workshops designed for children ages 5-12...The Home Depot's Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bug house or Declaration of Independence frame kit.
The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.
***In addition to the kit, your child will receive a kid-sized orange apron and an achievement pin.
For more information visit the Home Depot site.
Visit the UW Geology Museum
1215 W. Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!
Sunday, June 3rd
State Park Open House Day
Check out Madison Consumer's post HERE
Ride the Drive!
Downtown Madison has a lot of fun for the family and it's all FREE!! From 10-3, Ride the Drive is more than just five miles of roads closed to traffic, the event has a festival type atmosphere. There are activities, entertainment, music, and vendors in "villages" and on the route. Ride the Drive villages are stopping points along the route that include all kinds of family friendly activities, food, information booths, merchandise tents, art displays, and bouncy houses. You can see the complete schedule HERE
The Memorial Union Terrace
They always seem to have something fun going on there - music, Babcock ice cream, etc and there is no charge!
Last time we went there were FREE crafts, a GIANT inflatable Bucky, Balloon animals and an outdoor brat stand (not FREE).
Look for the big orange chair and turn it into a photo-op like we did with Miss Sarah and the peanut of Ashely from Coupons for Wisconsin already this summer!
