Yummy Baked Hash browns!

This is one of my favorites and always goes with creamed peas and any kind of ham, my preference is ham loves!

Why else do I like it?
  • SUPER easy to make
  • Great to take to any kind of a pot luck
  • Very inexpensive when you get the hash browns on sale with coupons
  • Freezable
  • Simple for children to help you with - let them do all the measuring and mixing!
Here goes!
Start with a bag of hash browns - any kind.
Thaw them in the fridge overnight. The next day, toss them in a big bowl.
(Take the out of the bag first...)
Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. If you use WHITE pepper,
it won't show up and makes for a better "presentation".
Dice an onion and pop it into a pan with a little butter.
Saute them just until the edges are starting to brown a bit...
Add the onion to the bowl, a cup of milk, one cup of sour cream and
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (8 ounces)
Stir it all together...
Pop it into a 9x13 pan or baking dish
and top with one cup of bread crumbs
-mixed with a little soft butter.
Pop into a preheated 350 degree oven and bake for about 30 minutes,
until the edges are getting nice and golden.
Now, rip into it like a monkey on a cupcake!
