Frugal Friday: Thinking Out Of The Box To Shop
Miss Sarah is in ballet classes...so I know we will need new shoes, tights, etc.
So, it can be a matter of how to work the deals, to get what you know you are already going to buy, to save money for your family's budget.
Here is a great example.
The WHA Public Auction had certificates for Rosey Cheeks - $20.00 value. When you over bid, you get bonus certificates! This year it was a $5.00 Taco Bell and a $5.00 Pizza Hut coupon. SO, it makes sense to bid just one dollar over and get the bonuses.
I got TWO certificates for $21 -- which I was going to have to spend on new shoes and tights anyway. They gave me $20 back in the food certificates, so that means we were $18 ahead!
Now, stack the Rosey Cheeks gift certificate with the Bucky Book Coupon of theirs --

Now, my $42 is really worth $70!
Shoes, tights, and maybe a new leotard are in her future...
maybe something fun for her hair too.
:)
As for the Pizza Hut coupons --
They have a school reading program and Miss Sarah can earn a FREE meal each month.
I can go with her and get a FREE meal too-yippee!
(The one by East Towne Mall has a nice lunch buffet...)
Taco Bell is far from my favorite restaurant but I see us driving through for a Fruitista Freeze
as a fun treat, or maybe getting a platter of their nachos to share.
Once in a while, it's nice to have something different up your sleeve, for that "special time".

How do you save money on things you know you have to buy?
