Christmas Craft Countdown: DIY Rudoph Shirts

Happy October first!
Today means there are 86 days days until we get the big visit from St Nicholas. Now, don't panic! To try and help you, we have put together a list of great stuff to help you count down to the big event.
  • There will be 31 different crafts that you still have time to make, for gifts, in October.
  • There will be 30 different cookie recipes, that you can gather ingredients to bake, off in November.
  • There will be 24 different things you can add to your family holiday traditions in December - to help keep the Christ in Christmas.
Let's get started with those crafts!

I found this gem on Pinterest -- SUPER cute idea from Noodles & Milk - a Rudolph shirt!

You do NOT have to use a sewing machine as felt doesn't fray -- but stitching the applique down would make it hold up better for the long haul and multiple washings. I, personally, see this on onesies too!

What do you need?
Felt (you can pick up a few squares at Michael's or Joann's for under $2.00 total), your "Stitch Witchery" or "Steam-a-Seam" paper and a pair of scissors. Oh yeah... and a shirt. That makes this a pretty inexpensive project!

You can see her step-by-step tutorial HERE -- I am making this gem at my November Crop for Miss Sarah. I have everything but the felt and, am using one of her white shirts that she so gracefully stained with cherry Kool-aid that the neighbor gave her. (someone helped me with the laundry and set the stain in the dryer....)

I am also making one for the soon-to-arrive baby that my niece is having and the cute little baby that our cousin has. Yes, I believe in assembly line concepts, LOL! The ribbon will only be on the girl's version...

Happy Crafting!
