Christmas Craft Countdown: Owl Sachets!

Today means there are 62 days days until we get the big visit from St Nicholas.
Now, don't panic!
To try and help you, we have put together a list of great stuff to help you count down to the big event.
  • There will be 31 different crafts that you still have time to make, for gifts, in October.
  • There will be 30 different cookie recipes, that you can gather ingredients to bake, off in November.
  • There will be 24 different things you can add to your family holiday traditions in December - to help keep the Christ in Christmas.
Let's get started with those crafts!

I found this gem on Flickr - and know it's in a different language,but it's pretty simple. Owls are SOOOO hot right now!!! This could be a cute little stuffy but I see adding a little lavender inside and popping a friend in each dresser drawer!

If you have ANY idea on sewing, the pattern is pretty clear, despite the language barrier. Cut 2 of certain things, where they go/lineup and how far to tuck them in from the shaded sections.

What do you need?
 fabric scrapsneedle/threadfabric glue if you didn't want to sew it togetherlavender/etc to stuff insidepoly fill

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
