Christmas Craft Countdown: Play Kitchens

Today means there are 85 days days until we get the big visit from St Nicholas. Now, don't panic! To try and help you, we have put together a list of great stuff to help you count down to the big event.
  • There will be 31 different crafts that you still have time to make, for gifts, in October.
  • There will be 30 different cookie recipes, that you can gather ingredients to bake, off in November.
  • There will be 24 different things you can add to your family holiday traditions in December - to help keep the Christ in Christmas.
Let's get started with those crafts!

I found this gem on Ikea Hackers. No need to drop $75+ on a play kitchen for someone when you can easily turn a small end table into one with a little black paint, few knobs and hooks!
What do you need?
A table (shown is the Oddvar stool), some black paint, hooks and knobs - and then add a play dish/pan set!

You can see the details HERE -- It's brilliant! Miss Sarah played with her kitchen for 3 years... this would be so much more compact and less expensive!

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
