Frugal Friday: Kale Chips!

We were snack helpers are Daisy Scouts this week and had to keep our treats on a plant theme.
This is the week of Leaves so we thought we would make kale chips!
Kale is pretty inexpensive - a bunch might run about $.75 at the store.
It's SUPER healthy for you too - being a dark, green, leafy item.

Start by taking the kale off the thick stems and tearing it into pieces.
Then wash and dry it.
A lot of recipes call for olive oil --I prefer Olive Oil Spray
You also need about a teaspoon of seasoning salt...OR Soy Sauce.
Lightly spray the clean leaves and add the salt. Toss to coat
Have your Jr. Assistant toss to coat too!
Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper...
Dump it all on there and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes or so.
You want to see the leaves getting a slightly darker edge and drying out.
How did they like it?
Some yes, some no.... one girl was hitting up everyone for the ones they didn't want, LOL.
You never know until you try and it is a very inexpensive thing to experiment with.
:)

Blessings-
Dannelle
