48th Annual MadFest Juggling Festival: 9-6PM @ MATC -- FREE.
Thanks to Amanda for this:
There are jugglers and unicyclists and more! Most jugglers (like me) are very friendly and would be happy to give you a lesson and let you borrow equipment to give it a try. You can bring your own stuff to juggle, too. It's also fun to just sit and watch. I will be there on Saturday as part of the Oregon (WI) Juggling Club. Look for me and I'll give you and your blog readers' families free juggling lessons! (How AWESOME of Amanda!)
**Keep in mind that MOST kids don't have the physical dexterity to learn to juggle until they are about 8 years old. However, they can still have fun with spinning plates, and throwing scarves and balls around. Diabolos (Chinese yo-yos) are fun, too!

Watch The Bald Eagles!
It's that time of year: Bald Eagle Watching Days! Mark your calendars and bring the family to the 25th annual Bald Eagle Watching Days in Sauk Prairie, Wisconsin. This event is the perfect time to see and watch bald eagles along the picturesque Wisconsin River. A variety of programs will be offered including live bird of prey shows, wildlife photography seminar, children's activities, and more! Bus tours are also available before, during, and after the event. This annual event is sponsored by the DNR, Sauk Prairie Chamber of Commerce, and the Ferry Bluff Eagle Council. 8AM - 10PM at the River Arts Center (Sauk Prairie High School, 105 9th Street, Prairie du Sac). See more HERE
**It really is an amazing thing to see - and teach your children about...and a great lesson to teach about how we almost lost these majestic birds by polluting their enviornment.

Visit the UW Geology Museum
1215 W. Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!

Chemistry Fun at UW Space Place
Space Place family workshops are offered every Saturday at 10 a.m. for children ages 6-10 and their parents. The workshops are free and open to the public. No registration is required for any of the workshops but attendance is LIMITED to the first 50 people.

Sunday, January 20th

The Memorial Union Terrace
They always seem to have something fun going on there - music, Babcock ice cream, etc and there is no charge!
Last time we went there were FREE crafts, a GIANT inflatable Bucky, Balloon animals and an outdoor brat stand (not FREE).
Look for the big orange chair and turn it into a photo-op like we did with Miss Sarah and the peanut of Ashely from Coupons for Wisconsin already this summer!
:)

The Vilas Zoo!
We are lucky enough to have a FREE Zoo that is open year round...check it out
