Bunny Cake Pops!
We are the ones bringing the treats to Miss Sarah's school class this week - and, even thought it is a short week, we like to make it fun!
Day 1: Bunny Cake Pops.
:)
I saw it on the awesome Bakerella HERE and conferred with Miss Sarah to see if she would like them and silly me, the answer was yes. I know ours don't look exactly like the original, but I highly doubt she had a 5 year old helper, who wanted whiskers on her bunnies.
A few quick things.
1) They are not true "cake ball pops" as they are baked in the "waffle iron" type machine instead of hand rolled into balls from a crumbled cooled cake and can of frosting. This is FASTER my way and easier to do with a little person.
2) We have food markers. I didn't take a Sharpie and draw on the whiskers...that would make them inedible.
3) I used HALF a box of cake mix to make 25 pops, the rest of the batter is in the fridge AND the nose/eyes were from my cookie decorating stash.
Now for pictures:
Have your assistant sort the decorations you will need. We wanted PINK hearts for noses, not the white ones, etc

Let your assistant do the measuring and mixing:
YOU put it into the squeeze bottle:
That makes it easier to put into the pan wells quickly as they are hot and start to cook the cake quickly
Fill them fast!
Follow instructions to cook, mine took 4.5 minutes a batch
After they cool, you can stick them, dip in melted white chocolate and start to decorate!
Seriously easy, and you can have a lot of fun with them.
I KNOW the kids are going to pop them into their mouths quickly and not savor the visual appeal.
They are five and six and I am not dumb.
I do goofy stuff like this because it's fun with Miss Sarah and some day,
she will look back and say:
"my mommy always made it special when it was my turn to take snacks to school".
I know - because my mom did the same for me.
:)
Isn't that what life is about - creating the fun memories as we turn little people into adults?
What is Day 2 going to be?
Wormy apples.
Aren't you glad you asked, LOL?
