Homemade Taco Seasoning
I shared my Tossed Taco Salad recipe yesterday and didn't think to share the Taco Seasoning Mix recipe! How rude of me!!
Here you go -- SUPER easy to make, it keeps well and saves you money. A set of Tupperware snack cups is easy to set out and make this times four - which is what I do.
Taco Seasoning Mix
2 tsp. instant minced onion
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
½ tsp. cornstarch
½ tsp. crushed dried red pepper
½ tsp. instant minced garlic or garlic powder
¼ tsp. dried oregano.
(to make it spicier - add 1/2 tsp.cumin)
Combine all. Place in snack cup. Makes 2 TB.
To Use:
In a pan combine 1 pound cooked shredded chicken or ground beef/turkey (1.5 - 2 cups gravel), ½ C water, 2 Tbsp seasoning mix. Simmer 4-6 min. Makes 8-10 tacos...burritos...enchiladas...one taco salad...etc.
