Dannelle's Cranberry Zucchini Bread

We LOVE this bread and this time of year - when we are flush in fresh zucchini and able to whip up a ton of batches. If you are like me, and get a bunch of zucchini FREE (watch Craigslist, Freecycle and chat with your friends)...take a minute to shred it all up and portion into 1.5 cup packages for your freezer. This way, you can whip up a recipe at ANY time, quick and easy! This is a great recipe to make with your toddler - several steps that they can do! You can explain how the eggs are the "glue" that holds it all together, how the baking powder and soda make it nice and tall, how the cranberries help keep you from getting sick (lots of vitamin C), etc. They will have no qualms about eating the zucchini part once they helped make it, LOL! Cranberry Zucchini Bread 3 Cups Flour 2 Cups Sugar 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon 1 1/4 tsp Salt 1 tsp Baking Soda 1/4 tsp Nutmeg 1/2 tsp Baking Powder 3 Eggs 1 1/2 Cups Shredded Zucchini 1 Cup Vegetable Oil 1 tbsp Vanilla 1 Cup Chopped

NEW: Busy Bag Swap

I first saw this on another blog - Unsolicited Advice and thought it was a BRILLIANT idea! She opened up for a new swap and it filled so darned fast that I didn't get a chance to play...SO, I am hosting one here! ( I asked her blessings first...) We are going to play with the same rules that they do - so hang on and start reading IF you have a kiddo (k-2nd grade) and want to play along. I will take the first 30 people that respond, then close the swap. She had 2 different groups for the K-2 age group and I am merging them together. (play AND education) What is a busy bag? A busy bag is a Ziploc bag containing an activity that would give your child something to keep them busy, either with you or without you. Kdg-2nd grade is the age group we are doing and will have BOTH "play" and "educational" bags. What the difference between the Play and Educational bags? The first (play)  is a set of activities that are mostly just fun (but may have hidden education in

The Bed Bug Epidemic....Eww!

This is a repost of mine - I thought it was time to bring it back as a friend of mine's daughter just moved into an apartment. She had bites on her and was told that they were flea bites from the the owner of the building was having pest control come in - and they figured out quickly that it was NOT fleas, but bed bugs. ICK! It's an ongoing battle with her new landlord to fix this situation for them - so here is my original post. There is good info in my original post, just keep in mind that you can always check the online registries before hitting a hotel over night, etc. My favorite is _______________________________________ Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite! Who hasn't said that to their kiddos one time or another when tucking them in? Bed bugs USED to be a problem in this country until about World War II and the frequent use of they are back and with a vengeance! The ugly little buggers are small and nocturnal
