I had a plan...

Image
I got a sneak peak of the ad that we will see next week Thursday - which will be good for the July 14th Double Double Daze. Not really impressed. :( Sorry, I didn't get to KEEP it or take a picture, so I can't really help with a match yet... So, let's talk about THIS ad that we are currently working with! I do have a bajillion $1.00/1 Quaker cereal coupons for the Squares and Hearts cereals and thought I would go today, later, and hit an empty shelf. I was right! RAIN CHECK TIME!!! (Can you just see me dancing around right now....?) I will do 10 transactions (using Mom's card too) on the 14th - getting 100 boxes of that cereal (a $413.00 value) for only $50.00, saving 88%. 90 of them will go to the food pantry and 10 for our house. Can't you see how stinkin' cute the snack mix will be when it has little hearts in it?!! So, that is the plan for the 14th. A LOT of cereal to pre-order on Monday! :)

Update: Summer Fun List

Image
Last Summer, and the year before, I shared my list of cool things to do in the summer and I realized, it was time to do it again for the summer of 2012! It is now JULY!!! Time to update the list we have. Since I first printed our list, I have taken over Miss Sarah's Daisy Troop... (I know, in my spare time, LOL) So I have actually ADDED a few things that I have planned with the girls. Keep in mind that this isn't a list of everything you HAVE to do over the summer! It's a list to refer back to when you have those "what should we do today" moments. :) There is NO WAY we will get everything on the list done in the 10-12 week window of summer vacation !!! Just like meal planning - some ideas can roll onto the NEXT list if they don't actually happen on THIS list.| Some things are a definitly happening item and some a "fillers". I have s een MANY cool ways to make a list on Pinterest (LOVE that site) and will show them below but here is

Do You Swag?

Image
In my coupon class - I talk about where to find coupons. Swagbucks is a GREAT spot where YOU get to reap the rewards for printing all of your coupons (that Coupons.com carries) instead of some blogger. :) (but you know I love you for supporting my site and helping the homeless mission at my church...) Simply create your account, click on the coupons tab and start printing! You get 10 points for every coupon you print and use - so, ten a week would equal 5,000 points over the course of a year - almost enough to get a $50 Amazon gift card! A $50 Amazon Gift Card can net you $200-300 of goodies if you wait to use it until Cyber Monday! The best part? It's FREE to join!!!! :) Get started today!

A Heartfelt Thank You

Image
Since I shared what was going on in my family/personal life last week, I have gotten HUNDREDS of E-mails from you all. I never realized how many people went through the same kind of thing and appreciate all your kind words and prayers, more than you could ever know. Things are far from settled here, but life is better and I am now able to start thinking about the future. It's taken a lot of baby steps. It's all the little things you never think of, like having to be tested for STD's when you have been married for almost 20 years... and yes, I cried through it.  We are both in counseling, separately for now. We are also rotating residence but keeping Miss Sarah there full time, trying to keep things as stable for her as possible. I will not be eating Greek Salads any more... My neighbor and friend was one of the 5 women he dated. I know, so not cool, on both of their parts. I do love him, but have a lot to decide... it's just something that I have to work on and se

My Shopping Plan This Week

Image
We have a pretty full stockpile so it's easy to NOT shop, unless it's for things we need. This list is pretty short: just two stores: Aldi and Copp's 1) I plan to hit Aldi Tuesday for some Mushrooms, grape tomatoes and zucchini. 2) Copp's. I am after the Quaker Hearts/Squares cereal @$2.50 and the string cheese @$1.00 -- along with green beans,  split chicken breasts and a few bagels. I have a LOT of $1/1 coupons for the cereal so I see many transactions like this: 5 boxes cereal 10 packs string cheese grand total $15.00 -- but saving $29.30 The string cheese freezes nicely, is wrapped individually inside the bulk pack and will be for school lunches starting in September. I have preordered 50 packs of it. The cereal will come to $.50 each and normally runs over $4.00 I plan on 50 boxes of cereal, 50 packs of string cheese, some split chicken breasts and 20# of green beans (canning them) then a few pounds of plums. Sure wish there was a DOUBLE DOUBLE Daze -- it wo
