Amish Cars.

Image
One of the joys of my Tupperware Business, is the amazing people I get to meet! I have been privileged to do parties for an amazing group of Amish ladies, north of Portage for the last ten years and have made some great friendships. Many of the perks are Amish Oatmeal pies, organic chickens that are about eight pounds when they are fully dressed, onion/cheese bread and more! Today, we went to visit Ms Erma, who is now a grandmother. Her daughter had her first baby and we brought a few gifts up. Sadly, we have no pictures of the new little peanut to share with you, they were nursing. =) Before we left, Ms Erma asked Miss Sarah if she would like a ride in an "Amish Car". Silly question! Sarah was helped into the buggy, then Erma got in to drive. It was a quick jaunt down the end of the driveway and back, but Sarah LOVED it! You can see the snow that we still have lingering in the background...it should be gone soon! I'm not sure who is smiling more: Miss Sarah or Ms Erma wh

Why St Patrick's Day Is Hard For Me...

Image
Every year my family would go out to get some yummy corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick's Day, if the place served green beer, all the better! This was a great tradition until March 17th, 2005. That was the year that only my husband and I went, Mom and Pop stayed home because he thought he was coming down with a cold. He didn't have a cold. He had a massive heart attack that night and passed away. They said it was so bad that if he was in an Emergency Room, they couldn't have saved him. =( Pop wasn't my real father...he was my third one. My birth father had died many years before, my Stepfather adopted me when he married my mother, but had a new family as they divorced and he remarried. Let's just say he was a MUCH better Dad to the new crop of kids... Then came Pop. Husband #3. Pop was warm, loving and a fixture in my life for over 10 years...and he gave the best hugs! He would have ADORED our daughter - he was there for our entire journey to be parents and sobbe

DOUBLE DOUBLE DAYS!!!!

Word has it that THIS Saturday, the 19th is going to be a DOUBLE DOUBLE day at the Roundy's Stores! What does this mean? You get to double TEN coupons instead of just the FIVE~!!!! Watch your ad inserts this week -- I might have to make an early Copp's run before I go do my two Tupperware Parties on Saturday!!!!

3/16 Copp's Run

There wasn't a lot I was after today, besides the yogurt deals so only two transactions. I SKIPPED the General Mills cereal deal as I mentioned in a previous post that the prices had been jacked up on the cereal at my store - a $1.10 a box jump in just 3 weeks is simply INSANE!!!!! Here is my summary: Transaction #1 $25 Gift card (to give Donna, winner of my 500th post giveaway!) 5 Yoplait Delight Yogurt Packs at $1.66 *** It said in the ad that only the first THREE would be that price and that the rest would be $1.99 - but all FIVE rang up at the sale price. Coupons used: five $1/1 Yoplait Delites coupons (doubled) Totals $14.45 for -$1.70 = MONEY MAKER!!!! I actually spent $23.30 after the coupons doubled and am subtracting out the $25 gift card as that isn't part of my $100 budget - it is for the blog promotional budget. Savings (112% savings, LOL!) Transaction #2 $10 Gift card (to make sure I hit $25 for the doubling) 1 gallon Roundy's Milk @$2.25 1 Corned Beef Points P

Holy Buckets!

I will share my summary of the Copp's run today a little later - but I was kind of shocked at the store today! The last time we had a General Mills Cereal deal (buy 6 boxes, get $10 off instantly and vouchers for $5 off milk and eggs on a future visit)...I got a lot of Cinnamon Burst Cheerios at $2.89 a box. They have a deal going on right now, same as above but only $3.25 for milk, and I perused the aisle with my littl coupon box and had a small stroke. Cinnamon Burst Cheerios was $3.99 a box. THE SAME SIZE that I got 3 weeks ago for $2.89 !!!!!!!!!!!! I know prices are going up -- but SERIOUSLY??? $1.10 a box in THREE WEEKS??? I mentioned it at the register (did NOT buy any cereal) and will keep an eye out to see if the price drops next week when no deal is on. (Grrr.....) I *WAS* going to score some more cereal for my church's food pantry today, but NOT when there is a pricing slight of hand game going on. Did you notice it too? Feel free to rant here (I did!) =)

Sentry 3/17-3/23

OK - one of the best Sentry Ads we have seen in almost a month between produce, meat and a few other goodies! Keep in mind that everything in a weekly ad isn't a great deal - some companies pay premiums to be featured. There are a lot of their private label (Flavorite) featured too... decent prices, but NOT when you can get the name brand almost FREE with your coupons! There are more things listed in the flier than what I show here - these just seemed the best deals to me =) Produce Deals: Green Giant Red Potatoes $.49/# (5# bag for just $2.49) Red Grapefruit $.49/# (5# bag for just $2.49) Cut Ripe Watermelon $.59/# - I hope it's Sweet! Apples $.99/# Washington Red and Golden Delicious ***Even though Strawberries are $2 a pound - other stores have a better deal... Meat Deals Hormel Pork Tenderloin Tips $1.79/# Jennie-O Farm Fresh Tom Turkey's $.89/# Assorted Pork Chops $1.99/# (Sentry Brand) Pork Hocks $.89/# (nice when braised with sauerkraut) Dairy Deals Sentry Large Eggs

$7.89

Image
I went to the gas station the other day and had to go inside to pay. I was in line behind some lady who didn't get gas, but was purchasing something. I overheard the clerk behind the counter tell her "That will be $7.89 Mam..." That is when I realized she was only getting a pack of cigarettes! $7.89 for ONE PACK!!! Let's do some quick math: If you smoke one pack a week - it is $410 a year. If you smoke one pack a day - it is $2,872 a year. If you smoke two packs a day - it is $5,744 a year. That is a LOT of money to spend on something that a) isn't healthy for you and b) leaves you nothing to show for it. Ouch! I know life is all about priorities...and this is something that some people choose to partake in...but think about this: **If you had a 30 year mortgage, you could pay your house off in 15 years with that money. **If you had a kid that you wanted to send to college, you could tuck away over $110,000 in 18 years. **If you wanted to buy a home, you could sav

Food Pantry Challenge Week #2

WHAT AN AWESOME START SO FAR!!! 63 baby items were reported as donated last week to their local pantry! The weekly drawing winner has been notified, and we are off to week #2! These week's focus : Donate before Sunday, March 20th: Toothbrushes, Toothpaste In Tupperware, I teach my team that A Little, Often, Equals Much. This is no different a concept AND teaches a great lesson to our children. =) Here is my challenge to you: 1) Donate items of the week to your local pantry/shelter. 2) Reply to this thread of the week as a check in - that you did, and how many items you donated. 3) I will have a weekly gift...drawn for from the people that reply. Each item you donate gets you a chance at that weekly drawing. 4) Share this mission on YOUR blogs - let's really pay this forward and make an impact! =) Thank You for making a difference!!!! Hugs~
