Incredible Cheese Deal !!

Image
Remember me talking about that Ah-Ma-Zing cheese that I got from my Amish friend? Guess what? They sell it! Ready for the price? {are you sitting down...?} That five pound block (of the most incredible cheese I have had in a long time) was only $11.00 !! Yup, $2.20 a pound! We see the 8oz (half pound) bricks of cheese on sale at Copps and Pick N Save for $1.25 - which makes it more expensive and less tasty. Their store is called Shady Lane Variety. W2384 BARRY RD, PARDEEVILLE, Wisconsin. It is SO easy to find, it's right off of hwy 22. They also sell fresh chicken eggs -- and a ton of things for the Amish. If you have children - it is a GREAT thing to take them to see! It's a totally different culture. If you go, tell Erma I sent you. :)

Still Speechless

Yesterday, I shared on our Facebook page, that I was going off-line and spending quality "snuggle time" with Miss Sarah. That was after all the information of the horrible events in Connecticut came out. The few posts that still popped out were scheduled --- but I pulled them off as I could. There are no words to describe what any parent feels, when they hear news like that. I think back to yesterday, at my daughter's school. The playground was FULL of parents who came to pick up their elementary school children. More parents were there than I ever remember....... Our principal was out there, giving hugs and answering questions. You could tell that most women, and a few men, had been crying. There is nothing anyone can really say but to pray for those sweet little angels that went to heaven, way before their time. Pray for those families that will be missing that little person over the holidays and to help God heal that hole that will forever be in their hearts.

December Daily: Christmas Tree Waffles

Image
Super cute - right? I wanted to give you a few days to plan this out -- it's SUPER simple idea from Rutherford's Family Happenings . Now here is the thing - you need to use WILTON Coloring gel to make it a wonderful green color or you will get a funky brown waffle. Also, don't make them too crisp...Kelly Green is the color you want. It is a SIMPLE Belgian waffle, separated into four parts, with a bacon stem. They let their kiddo put the "ornaments" on, and it's a fresh fruit star at the tip. Yummy, edible art. I LOVE it! Now, Wilton colors usually run about $3.50 - $4.00 for a jar, but they are concentrated and go a VERY long way. You simple keep them in a cool, dry place and the one jar could give you years of Christmas Waffles. If you don't have a baking shop near you that carries it, try Amazon...   Wilton Kelly Green Icing Color

December Daily: Remembering Their Wish Lists!

Image
I simply adore this idea! This is a simple, fun idea you can do -- make an ornament. Now I know, Christmas is not about what the kids want...it's about our Savior - right? I look at this is just another kind of "keepsake" from a childhood that goes by waaaaay too fast. Simply put the year on the outside with glitter glue, sharpies or what ever and then make a very small copy of the items that you kiddo is hoping to get for the holiday. Of course, you can make it fancier than this -- I know a lot of you are super crafty... but it can be super simple and yet effective. Just think: when they are older, maybe have families of their own, they can look back and have a sneak peek into what they were like as children. Moms -- are you getting kind of mushy yet? I think-- it would be soooo cool to see what MY lists were, 100 years ago when I was little. (OK, a slight exaggeration...) I can remember the year I wanted a Barbie -- but that was it. A special thanks to

Sunday Coupon Preview

Image
It looks like there will be NO insert in the paper this weekend -- actually, 12/30 is the next one scheduled. You can check out what coupons are on the national line up -- but keep in mind that we may see slightly different ones in our own area. Want more coupons? Here is an easy way to get them: COUPON CLIPPING SERVICES You can always use a clipping service to get more insert coupons or ones that were not available in your local paper. I recommend these 4 sites Now that the Dollar Tree no longer carries the Sunday paper for $1.00 - it's time to talk discount subscriptions. (sigh) Check it out HERE to see if you have any special offers in your area.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Image
I shared this picture on my facebook page and had a few requests for the recipe. :) Here you go! Sift together: 1 3/4 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda In a separate bowl, cream together: 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup soft butter ....add 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 TBSP milk. Then add flour mixture. Shape into 40 balls and place each one in an UNGREASED muffin tin. Bake at 375* for about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately press a mini peanut butter cup into each ball. Cool before removing from pan . Note: I used my cookie scoop and put 3/4 a scoop in each muffin tin cup. It saved a LOT of time but only made 37.
