2013 Kids Summer Dream Film Series

Image
It's no surprise that going to the movies now a days can be an expensive experience. Just Miss Sarah and I can run almost $30 if we go to a matinee, get a popcorn and a soda. Insane. The popcorn isn't even fresh! They pop it, put it into a bag, drag it into the back room. They bring it out of the back room and warm it up as they need it. (blech) I am NOT opening a discussion about who smuggles what into the theaters in their purse or diaper bag...it's between you, and your family. Just rethink the cans of soda that we can all hear you open in the dark - yes, we know what that sound is, LOL! We love the Kid's Series as it is CHEAP, they show Kid Friendly shows and it's great for either a super hot day or a day with so much rain that you feel housebound. Here are the details:   All titles will be shown in standard 2D only, and are rated PG. In accordance with the MPAA, PG titles should be investigated by parents before they let their youn

It looks like there will be two inserts in the paper this weekend ... a SmartSource and a RedPlum. You can check out what coupons are on the national line up -- but keep in mind that we may see slightly different ones in our own area. Want more coupons? Here is an easy way to get them: COUPON CLIPPING SERVICES You can always use a clipping service to get more insert coupons or ones that were not available in your local paper. I recommend these 4 sites Now that the Dollar Tree no longer carries the Sunday paper for $1.00 - it's time to talk discount subscriptions. Coupons For The Military

Image
Do you have expired coupons? Do NOT throw them out -- you can still put them to good use!! Our military families give up so much for us, that there is one simple thing we can do to give back to them: send them our expired coupons! I know, it sounds wacky - but they can use them for up to 6 months past the expiration date at the Commissary (for edible items) and their PX (for personal care items). Here are a few things you need to know -- It takes a while to get them to the people who will use them, once a package is shipped over seas. That means all coupons have to be mailed with at least 4 months to go. All coupons have to be sorted into two groups: things people eat and things they dont. That is the difference between the Commissary and PX. You can only send manufacturer's coupons -- no store or restaurant coupons. Operation $40K has adopted a base in the UK through the Overseas Coupon Program and will be sending out monthly packages...you are more than welcom

Washburn Public Observatory Tomorrow!

Image
The UW-Madison Astronomy Department offers free public observing at Washburn Observatory every 1-2 weeks throughout the year. The Open House sessions are hosted by UW astronomy graduate students. The public viewing sessions are informal, so there is no lecture or tour. The dome is open to the outside air so dress appropriately. Food and drinks, as well as flash photography are not allowed in the observatory. The status of the upcoming Washburn Observatory Open House is displayed in the Twitter Feed window to the right, which is usually updated approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of the session. Please also note the free public observing opportunities offered through our Universe in the Park program and through UW Space Place . Accessibility Note: Unfortunately, to preserve the original character of Washburn, the telescope is not handicap accessible and is only reachable by climbing a flight of stairs. 1401 Observatory Drive, Madison 7:30-9:30PM on May

Since this Saturday Roundys stores double TEN coupons per transaction I really can't miss this opportunity. We don't really need anything so this time it is all about stuff to donate. I called my store already and place a pre-order for Saturday morning. No Shelf-Clearing here.
