It's that time of year with all the Back To School sales so, we focus on gathering supplies for Luther World Relief School Kits! We try to make at least 10 every year than the year ...it's basically just a bag full of basic supplies that would be needed for anyone. It's fun to involve Sarah in this - she helps me pack the bags and take them to church. We really are SOOOO blessed in this country - compared to so many that it really seems our duty to share the wealth. A TON of coupons expire at the end of each quarter: 3/31, 6/30, 9/30, and 12/31. That means we weed through our coupon binders and coupon boxes and pull out all of those coupons that we can no longer use. Do NOT throw them out -- you can still put them to good use!! Our military families give up so much for us, that there is one simple thing we can do to give back to them: send them our expired coupons! I know, it sounds wacky - but they can use them for up to 6 months past the expiration date at the Commissary (for edible items) and their PX (for personal care items). Here are a few things you need to know -- It takes a while to get them to the people who will use them, once a package is shipped over seas. I love traveling to New York - and it's been waaaaay too long. We would do fun different things like hop on Amtrak in Columbus and tide the train to the Big Apple - with a sleeper car!
