Yes, I am on vacation and still hit the store...what can I say, it's hard to pass up a good deal! Actually, one of my coupon buddies did it for me this morning as I am still in Florida - and there are no Roundy's stores here (sigh). Two Transactions today - and only one item purchased. We regularly register Ms Sarah for some activities through this program of the parks and recreation department in our town. Every season they send out a publication packed with tons of recreational programs for all ages. From youth craft classes to adult fitness to their ever popular swim lessons! There really is something for everyone. They even list the FREE things that will happen like concerts in the park or Fire Station open houses. How does this save money? It lets you test drive activities at a HUGE savings before you choose to invest in real ones. Example: Ballet . They have a ballet class that runs for a few weeks and is a LOT less expensive than a year at a local dance studio. You can let your kiddo try it out and, if after a few weeks, they don't like it - you haven't got a year long contract that is hundreds of dollars staring you in the face. It's the beginning of a new week! In my coupon class, I teach people how to save money at the stores. That is half of the equation for saving money on food, meal planning is the other half to it. You have to USE the food you have brought home and not let yourself make the "fast food run" - those add up fast and kill your budget! Meal planning also saves you time - no more getting home and playing "open up the cupboard doors, what falls out is for dinner" game. That is a lot of money to owe someone, and if you are making minum payments, that amount will double before you pay it off! That is, if you aren't ever late with a payment...if you are, they can - and will - jack your interest rate up to 29.9% IN ADDITION to the late fee of about $30!! Now your amount won't double with minimum payments, it might triple!
