December Daily: Christmas Tree Waffles

Super cute - right?

I wanted to give you a few days to plan this out -- it's SUPER simple idea from Rutherford's Family Happenings.

Now here is the thing - you need to use WILTON Coloring gel to make it a wonderful green color or you will get a funky brown waffle. Also, don't make them too crisp...Kelly Green is the color you want.

It is a SIMPLE Belgian waffle, separated into four parts, with a bacon stem. They let their kiddo put the "ornaments" on, and it's a fresh fruit star at the tip.

Yummy, edible art. I LOVE it!

Now, Wilton colors usually run about $3.50 - $4.00 for a jar, but they are concentrated and go a VERY long way. You simple keep them in a cool, dry place and the one jar could give you years of Christmas Waffles. If you don't have a baking shop near you that carries it, try Amazon...
