Saturday Kids in the Rotunda  Every Saturday October thru May - Overture Center for the Arts Overture Center offers free arts programs designed for children and families at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM. The popular performing arts series for children and families offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers. The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted. I LOVE chore charts! Miss Sarah has had one since she was TWO -- It incorporated out nightly bedtime routine but had her picking up different toys, brushing her teeth, laying out clothes for the next day, etc. Obviously, the older she gets, the more I tweak it for her abilities. Now she has piano practice and reading sandwiched in there - but it's still a sheet that she can check off the accomplishments and we see the progress over the week. The big question is allowance: yes or no, and then how much? Right now, I let her earn "points". We use the points to turn in for fun stuff like a manicure at a local salon, going to movies (think $2 winter kid's film series with the $25 Marcus gift cards I got on Black Friday), trip to Culver's (she earns free treats through the school reading program), etc. If you have a little person - this is a GREAT freebie from Over The Big Moon -- a chore chart that you can print off and is great for those toddlers.
