Fun Free Things!

There are plenty of fun, free things to do out there if you have kids! Libraries, book stores, toy shops are a great source of fun things that create memories for your peanut and only costs you your time.

Thanks to my Friend Melanie, we ended up at Toy R Us today for their Thomas event. Those that know ms Sarah, know she is a Thomas the Train freak - she has Thomas Jammies, a shirt or two and even picked it when she had a choice of "big girl" sheets for her bed.

Today, they had story time, coloring sheets, passed out "crowns" and had trivia that awarded you in more Thomas swag...all in the middle of their Thomas section at the store, from 11-1.

In the past we have met Clifford, the Big Red Dog at Barnes & Noble's story time...the Lucky Charms Leprechaun at the grocery store (along with the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee) and Scoopy, the Culver's Mascot at the grand opening of the new emergency hospital.

WHERE does one find things? Check out your local Mom's groups - search for a yahoogroup in your area (we have MadisonMoms)...check out your local papers and weekly shoppers and contact the places I mentioned directly to see if/when they might have something.

Today, we went to A&W afterwards for their $.99 coney dogs and $.99 root beer floats. Ms Sarah doesn't like the coney part of the coney dog, only the dog - here is an FYI for you: you can't get a sale coney dog without the chili - they will charge you a regular hot dog price ($1.89). You CAN get it with the chili on the side...which we did, LOL! In our little world, the dog is eatten first and then, the bun becomes a ketchup sandwich -- you can see that she approved!

Until next time -- find something fun for you and your family that is FREE!
