Garage Sale Leftovers = FREE Money!

I LOVE garage sale season! The thrill of the hunt, the rush of getting a great deal on something you need and more! You never know what treasure you will find that you didn't know you needed, LOL....

We aren't really shopping this year...I have a housefull of stuff that is facing a move so I really don't wish to add to that pile. I DID make a list of the handfull of things we could use for Ms Sarah and have shared that list with my fellow garage sale junkies, LOL!

We have officially entered the season of city wide sales. That being said - remember my Frecycle post? It is GREAT for scoring "garage sale leftovers" that are posted on a Saturday afternoon for pick up that same weekend. Usually, they want you to take it all, not just pick through it.

This afternoon, Ms Sarah and I hit the post city wide sales of Waunakee - we got 7 boxes from a few different houses with miscellaneous items like candles, videos, baskets, holiday mugs, Christmas bulbs and just miscellaneous things that didn't sell at their sales. We even scored a few tomato cages - which we need for our almost ready to transplant tomatoes!

Here is the big bonus ->everything is already priced! We do "half price" day on our last sale day which, when you add a different location for marketing these gems, might help move them. We plan to watch Feecycle over the next few weeks as our sale isn't until the end of June...I already have 3 boxes left from MY sale and have added another 2 from purging over the course of the past week. On the schedule for the next two weeks is my entire attic! This needs to be done before it gets too darn hot to be crawling around in there.

We DO plan to pay it forward by offering our unsold bounty to the first person who can pick it all up...maybe it will be YOU!

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
