What to look for at the stores...

This is a GREAT bit ofinfo from Hot Coupon World's weekly email -- I hope you find it as usefull as I did
:)

Brands to Watch This Week

OFF – I hate bugs, so I'm always glad in June when bug spray goes on sale! Watch for savings of at least 25% off, but in stores like Rite Aid and Walgreens, the savings can already be as much as 50% off.

Sunscreen – This month, there will be a lot of competition in the sunscreen category with brands from Neutrogena to Banana Boat squaring off for your business. Watch for pricing of up to 50% off. For an interesting read about sunscreen brands and their overall effectiveness, check out this article that was featured last week on CNN - Environmental Working Group Report on Sunscreen. No matter which brand you wind up with, be sure you're getting it on sale!

Oscar Mayer – In anticipation of 4th of July festivities, watch for Oscar Mayer hotdogs on sale. I don't like to pay more than $1 for any hotdogs (all-beef), so this next two weeks is a time of year when I'll be stocking up.

Johnsonville - This is a brand staple in our house, so if I can get these on sale for $2.99 (before coupons), we'll be buying lots of brats and sausage to hold in the freezer for the winter. My one caveat is that I hate Johnsonville's packaging - it's not conducive to a long winter's nap in my Frigidaire, so be sure if you're going to freeze these for much longer than a month to switch the packaging out to your own.

Dreyers/Eddys - If you haven't stocked up on summer treats, ice cream and novelties, there's still time. Dreyers has the whole line on sale and there are some catalinas out there on top of it.

Falling Prices

Raspberries – I picked the first two from my own yard (two berries, not containers) but raspberry season is here. If you have to buy them in a store, $1.99 or less for a pint is going to be a good price. But my advice would be to hit your farmers' markets for these babies, and barter for them if at all possible. You've got great stockpiles - get creative with them!

Sweet Onions – Whether you're on the west coast and blessed with Walla Walla sweets, on the east coast and get those great vidalia onions, or anywhere in betweeen, sweet onions are in season, so look for them at .99c a pound or less.

Generics – It is week three of the month, so watch for the monthly big push of generics on sale!

Chicken - Hindquarters and drumsticks - .99c or less - perfect for the BBQ.
