Free Dinner at Chili's!

We hadn't been to a Chili's in quite some time so we were in for a treat! On Facebook, I went to the Heinze page and played their game to win a $30 Chili's restaurant gift card. You have to become a Heinze fan to play, and you can play more than one time, but isn't $30 worth a few minutes?

THEN, you will want to go to the Chili's company website (chilis.com) and join their E-mail club. It takes a day or two, but they will send you a coupon for a FREE Queso dip with chips appetizer! These area about a $4.50 value so you now have approximately a $35 meal for FREE!

The three of us ate very well tonight! We started with the Queso dip. Dear hubby had a Coke and I had ice water. Sarah did the Kid's Mac N Cheese with Mandarin Oranges, hubby had the Monterrey Chicken and I did the Lime Chicken. I have NO idea how he finished his meal! Neither Sarah nor I could finish, we brought about half of our dinner home in a box -- it will be enjoyed in a day or two.

Final result? They let us use the unused portion of the gift card for the tip! We did add a little cash to it but ended up with our 3 meals, and two mini meals for later - all for under $5 out of pocket! (and no one had to wash dishes!)

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
