Frosted Walnuts...

I remember learning how to make this simple and yummy giftable treat almost twenty years ago, when I was a pretty new Tupperware Consultant. The idea was to teach our customers to make homemade treats, package them in Tupperware for gifts and use old Christmas cards to make the tags that also had the recipe on it. A perfect gift for those people that seem to have everything
=)
The best price I have seen for bulk nuts is Farm and Fleet. Seriously, great deals on your baking and candy making supplies, especially this time of year.

To this day, I still love these and walnuts are SOOOOO good for you...it's the sugar that kind of neutralizes that health benefit here, LOL. Keep in mind that it is SUGAR though, not that nasty high fructose corn syrup. This recipe officially makes twelve servings...just try to stop at one!

4 cups walnuts
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tsp vanilla extract

Put the sugar and sour cream in a pan and bring to a boil over medium heat, constantly stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Cook for four minutes more and then add the vanilla. Stir and cook for one more minute then remove from heat and add the walnuts, stirring to coat evenly.

Empty the pan onto parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and let cool, then break apart and package to store or give away.

**These also make a great garnish on your cakes or tortes!
