Double Days Are Back?

OK - Roundy's is just messing with us, LOL! We DO have double days on Saturday, according to the latest grocery flier - and will through July

This is good for people like me, who were too sick to shop on a Wednesday this week! Seriously, all I have bought this month was twenty pounds of butter, 3 gallons of milk and two dinners out ($18.03 for a girls night and $1.33 for an over run at the local Applebees).

Tomorrow I will hit HyVee for their two day sale and $1.99/# bacon. Let's see if it is yummy -- for that price, I am doubtful but can still taste that BLT!!

I have coupons ready to go...need a few chili making and lasagna making items but can still hold out a while longer with my stockpile.

    This makes me happy!! I'm going to do the oatmealpalooza tomorrow! Now I just have to find some recipes with oatmeal! LOL

Chili Dog Casserole

I know this sounds strange -- and yummy at the same time, LOL You need to know the family history to "get it". We are part German, part English, part Irish and part Tennessee Hillbilly. Seriously. Did you ever see that black and white movie of Gary Cooper's called Sergeant York? Yes, my family comes from the Dyer/Yorks -- same family. Some of the "family recipes" are too far out there for even me to try... But this is a pot luck favorite. SUPER Easy and SUPER Easy to make healthier. We choose the middle of the road option, LOL You need:  1 package hot dog buns (8 ct) 1 package hot dogs 2 cups chili (or 1 can) 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese "fixins" That's it! You could do gluten free or whole grain wheat buns, turkey or tofu dogs, vegetarian chili, vegan or light cheese, you get the drift.
