DIY Tuesday: A new bed!

Occasionally, you score a really good deal when you are just driving down the road: things that are on a curb. Usually, this happens at the beginning of a  month, if people have been evicted and the landlords are simply pulling out what didn't get moved by the deadbeat tenants.
This bed, was in a pile on a curb, with only half of it's screws.
It's been in our garage for over a year.
The hubster assembled it quick to get an idea of it, and the measurements,
for Ms Sarah's room.
This was going to be BIG for that little room.
The problem was going to be the base - it was for a full sized futon, that folds up into a couch.
Since we didn't have room for it when it was fully extended,
Hubster removed the entire base supports.
This turned it into a loft bed instead!
She seems to like it - what do you think?
It isn't ready yet - we still need things like sheets - but she didn't care!
Her "nest" is complete with all the stuffed animals she could carry up the ladder:
You can see the remnants of the Noah's Ark nursery yet - we are now in transition to a "big girl room"
The bed lets her crib desk and toy box fit underneath - which really helps open up her room.
Even the cat approves.......LOL!
We ended up with plain red sheets - and are using the blankets she had.
The hunt is on for the perfect comforter...and then,
Noah and his friends can become history.

I LOVE starting a new project, especially when I haven't finished the last one.
(I say it very sarcastically...)

At least I have more to add to my garage sale hunt list!
