Fun Things To Do With The Kiddos This Weekend

Here is a list of fun, frugal things to do with the kiddos this weekend =)

If you are stuck inside with the storms that they are talking about (at least in my area), start working on your Summer Fun List! Don't forget to put things like Kid's Bowl FREE, and some of the ideas below like the Zoo or Farmer's Market on there!

                               Saturday or Sunday

Fitchburg Days
May 20, 21, 22 - McKee Farms Park, Fitchburg
Weekend events include a carnival, which opens 5pm on Friday, fireworks at dusk on Friday (9pm), children's tent with a daily theme and several activities for toddlers and young children; kite flying demonstrations, live music stage, Henry Vilas Zoo Exhibit, restaurants and food vendors, other performances and demonstrations.

Madison Farmer's Market
Capitol Square, 6AM - 2PM, rain or shine, no pets, The largest producer-only farmers’ market in the country. All items are produced locally by the vendor behind the table. No resale allowed!

Henry Vilas Zoo
IF YOU GO: To protect animals, the zoo does not provide straws (or lids) when purchasing beverages. You may want to bring your own cup that fits in the stroller cup holders, and transfer a beverage you might purchase while there (and sippy cups for the kids, of course.)  Bring a blanket or beach towel for diaper changing or snack time.

The McKay Center.
This is the PERFECT time of year to visit and see all the different kinds of lilacs that are in bloom! Have a smelling contest. See if the different colors smell the same. How many colors can you find. Sit on a bench and read a few books. It's a great place for a family visit!

Madison Area Pools
