Meal Plan Monday

It's the beginning of a new week!

In my coupon class, I teach people how to save money at the stores. That is half of the equation for saving money on food, meal planning is the other half to it.

You have to USE the food you have brought home and not let yourself make the "fast food run" - those add up fast and kill your budget!

Meal planning also saves you time - no more getting home and playing "open up the cupboard doors, what falls out is for dinner" game. You KNOW what you are going to make/eat and have the recipes and ingredients handy. THIS saves you both time and money, two great things!

This week brings my family some fun - my hubby only works three days so we can work the grill a bit more. We plan to go out for fish on Friday, but have a back up plan. It's a new month by then and I have a new budget to account for paying for a meal out - as we are out of gift cards for the "fish fry" restaurants.

Any time you see ** it means it was something pulled out of the freezer.

Here is the list:

Breakfast will include:
-Yogurt (I still have 4 packs left)
-Grapefruit halves (I got a few from my Mom)
-hard boiled eggs (yes, I am slowly thawing them out)
-boxed cereal (might as well, we have 20 boxes in stock!)
-fruit crepes

Lunches as normal (sandwiches, soup, left overs, tappas plates) and for dinner...

Monday : Beer Can Chicken**, grilled corn on the cob, onion/potato foil packs
Tuesday - Fridge Clean Out (cleaning out leftovers), green salad
Wednesday - Cobb Salad (using leftover Tues lettuce)
Thursday - Ravioli**,  green salad (using leftover Tues lettuce)
Friday - Fish Fry out? If not, baked fish** with wild rice, glazed carrots
Saturday - Grilled Pizzas
Sunday - Smoked Pork Tenderloin on the grill, Sweet Potato fries, fresh fruit

What are you going to feed YOUR family this week?
