Super Saturday Story time - at Barn's N Noble Bookstore (10:30 AM - 11:15 AM)
Super Saturday Imagination Story time is on the first and third Saturday of each month and begins at 10:30am. It's an amazing adventure for children and their family to take together!

Every Saturday October thru May - Overture Center for the Arts
Overture Center offers free arts programs designed for children and families at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM. The popular performing arts series for children and families offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers.
The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted. Kids in the Rotunda takes place on the Rotunda Stage. This week the magic & ventriloquism of Wayne the Wizard

Chemistry Fun at UW Space Place - NO EVENT THIS WEEKEND due to the Science Expeditions!

UW-Madison welcomes learners and explorers of all ages to campus to experience science as discovery at the 10th Annual UW-Madison Science Expeditions on April 14, 2012!
  • All campus events are free and open to the public. Bring your family and friends!
  • A fun, family-friendly event for kids and adults of all ages!
  • There are no tickets required for any of the on campus events or venues.
  • Science Spectaculars have specific starting times; first come, first seated.
  • Start your journey with Hands-on Exploration Stations at the Town Center in the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery building at the heart of campus. The stations are flow-by exhibits staffed by UW scientists. You can explore each station as long as you please.
  • Visit the dozen Satellite Venues nearby!
  • The free Science Expeditions Trolley runs will speed you between venues.

Visit the UW Geology Museum
1215 W. Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!

Spring is EARLY this year and that  means the flowering trees are too!
It's the PERFECT weekend to hit the McKay center and check out everything from apple trees to lilacs. You can't take a picnic lunch in there but it is worth checking out - it's also a FAB backdrop for great photos of your children!

Waisman Center Children's Theatre- Fox And Branch Family Folk Music
Sundays per schedule...NOT an event every weekend!
Shows take place in the Friends of the Waisman Center Auditorium at 1500 Highland Ave, off of University Ave near the UW Hospital. Admission to these short, family-friendly performances are usually just $2 for adults and $1 for children, thanks to sponsorship from American Girl Fund for Children.
