(we have done this before and it included coloring pages, triva and a story!)

Kid's Club at MICHAEL’S Craft Store:
Free Family Craft Time, Kids Crafts and more. The next FREE Family Craft Time session isn't set yet but every Saturday, they basically have a babysitter so you can shop! You reserve a craft session for your kid for just $2 (per child) for 30 minutes. Sessions start every half hour from 10 am – 11:30 am (Thanks TotallyTarget.com !)

Every Saturday October thru May - Overture Center for the Arts
Overture Center offers free arts programs designed for children and families at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM. The popular performing arts series for children and families offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers.
The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted. Kids in the Rotunda takes place on the Rotunda Stage. This week--Trinity Academy of Irish Dance!

Visit the UW Geology Museum
1215 W. Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!

1:00 The Parade Committee will be hosting traditional Irish contests such as “Most Freckles” and “Largest Clan” on the corner of Wisconsin & Mifflin, the parade itself starts at 1:30 pm, downtown Madison, around the Capital.

Waisman Center is back!!
The spring 2013 Waisman Center Children's Theatre series sponsored by Baird and hosted by the Friends of the Waisman Center. Admission: $2.00, Adults; $1.00, Children.
Tickets: Advance tickets for any show in the entire series can be purchased at the ticket table beginning on the first performance date and then throughout the series. The ticket table opens at NOON and is only open on days when there is a performance. Sign Interpreters: All shows sign interpreted.
Location: Friends of the Waisman Center Auditorium, 1500 Highland Avenue Directions: Turn North from University Ave at the intersection of University Bay Dr. and Farley Ave; continue over the hill onto Highland Ave. The Waisman Center is down the hill on the left. Enter parking lot by athletic fields.
Parking:Free. Park in far end of lot of the Waisman lot, #82. Additional parking is also available in lots 76 and 60. Parking and maps are available.

The Memorial Union Terrace
They always seem to have something fun going on there - music, Babcock ice cream, etc and there is no charge!

Last time we went there were FREE crafts, a GIANT inflatable Bucky, Balloon animals and an outdoor brat stand (not FREE).

Look for the big orange chair and turn it into a photo-op like we did with Miss Sarah and the peanut of Ashely from Coupons for Wisconsin already this summer!
