Kids in the Rotunda
Every Saturday October thru May - Overture Center for the Arts
Overture Center offers free arts programs designed for children and families at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM. The popular performing arts series for children and families offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers.
The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted. Kids in the Rotunda takes place on the Rotunda Stage. This week--David Landau! We LOVE him and so will your kids.

Visit the UW Geology Museum
1215 W. Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!

Sunday

Meet Your Farmer!
1:00 PM, at the Monona Terrace, there is a CSA Open House!
What is a CSA? It is the community supported agriculture program that lets you buy a "share" in a farm for the season so you get locally grown, fresh produce. {Totally awesome!} Some have weekly packages for you and some every other week.
**Before going to this, make sure you check with your medical insurance and employer to see if you get any kind of a rebate from them and their "wellness" program.
1) Check to see which farmers are organic and which aren't ... not all are and it surprises people.

2) Check to see what that farm grows. Some have a wider variety than others.

The Memorial Union Terrace
They always seem to have something fun going on there - music, Babcock ice cream, etc and there is no charge!

Last time we went there were FREE crafts, a GIANT inflatable Bucky, Balloon animals and an outdoor brat stand (not FREE).

Look for the big orange chair and turn it into a photo-op like we did with Miss Sarah and the peanut of Ashely from Coupons for Wisconsin already this summer!
:)

The Vilas Zoo!
We are lucky enough to have a FREE Zoo that is open year round...check it out
